FAQs on B-TAG & First Tracks

How does a B-TAG work?

A B-TAG is enabled with RFID (radio frequency identification) technology and can store a wide range of information and data including your lift access, credit for use in the resort, your personal preferences and a photo ID for security. Scanning points are used around the resort to scan this data via radio frequency and your pass acts as a key to unlock lift access gates and make purchases in resort.

What if I lose my B-TAG or it is stolen?

Once you register your information online at the eStore your B-TAG can only be used by you. It only takes a moment to upload a photo and a few simple details and you activate your First Tracks membership and make your B-TAG secure. Simply contact Buller Ski Lifts if your B-TAG is lost or stolen and our team can deactivate your B-TAG and replace it. Your B-TAG is valuable, like any lift pass or credit card we recommend you keep it safely stowed in a zipped up pocket. There is an administration fee to replace lost or damaged passes.

What is First Tracks and how do I join up?

First Tracks is the new program linked to the B-TAG and becoming a member takes just a few minutes online in the Mt Buller eStore.

1. Create your profile in the eStore.
2. Upload a photo to complete your profile.
3. Your profile is now complete and we will register you for First Tracks.

Your First Tracks account holds some personal information to keep you B-TAG secure with a stored photo ID and let's us know what offers and benefits are suited to you. Throughout the winter First Tracks members will enjoy special offers and enjoy the convenience of going online to load additional days skiing and other products as needed, redeeming offers and keeping in touch with regular news updates, even when you are back at home.

If you need a hand sorting out your First Tracks membership or checking your B-TAG registration, loading a product or just getting a lesson on the eStore drop in to the B-TAG Information Centre in the Village Square underneath Cattleman's and we'll give you a hand!

Is my information secure?

The information you load to First Tracks and your B-TAG is used exclusively by Buller Ski Lifts to facilitate your access to ski lifts and other services in the resort. In accordance with privacy laws, your personal information is not shared with any third parties without your consent and you have access online via the eStore to check and update your preferences.

Tips for keeping your B-TAG safe

Treat your B-TAG like you would a credit card and keep it secure at all times. The beauty of RFID technology is you can keep your B-TAG safely in a zipped up pocket and the lift access scanners read it automatically to open the gates - no more fumbling to show tickets or attaching them to the outside of jackets.

Join First Tracks online by registering a complete profile with your photo to register your B-TAG and make it yours. If you lose your B-TAG, notify Buller Ski Lifts immediately to report it and have it cancelled.

Keep your B-TAG away from your mobile phone and other RFID devices as this can stop the B-TAG working properly.

Can I keep my B-TAG and use it again?

Absolutely! The B-TAG is designed to be used over and over to make it easy to return to the mountain. Simply go online to update your First Tracks account with additional lift pass days, lessons or credit for use around the resort and your B-TAG is topped up and ready to go any time over the winter, and even year to year.

If I buy online will you mail my B-TAG passes to me?

If you purchase a B-TAG pass online we certainly can mail it out to you, but we'll only do that if you buy it 7 days ahead of your visit.  We need to allow time for your passes to reach you so if you buy within 7 days of your arrival we'll hold your B-TAGs in resort and you can collect them from the B-TAG Information Centre in the Village Square, it's underneath Cattleman's Cafe.

If your B-TAG should go astray in the post - or doesn't arrive in time, don't worry! We can cancel and reissue once you are in resort.
