Head Chef- Applications are now being sought for our four star boutique hotel and spa at Mount Buller for the 2015 ski season.
Are you passionate about producing quality food and prepared to relocate to this fantastic area for a ski season, then this is the position for you. This Head Chef position requires a very dedicated, hands on, organised and forward thinking Chef to work with the General Manger to deliver the very best in food for our outlets, 70 seat Signature restaurant (Breakfast and Dinner), in room dining, Gourmet pizzeria, Loft Bar and lounge (All Day Dining) and up to 45 daily staff meals.
Position Requirements:
Diverse skills to cover all sections of this busy hotel kitchen and also Gourmet pizzeria.
Deliver high volume whilst maintaining consistency and quality.
Become a part of a strong team, maintaining a well run kitchen operation including hygiene, food handling and meet all regulatory responsibilities
Food ordering, receiving and monthly stock takes.
Experience in ordering & menu costing.
Must be able to communicate effectively & have experience managing a kitchen team
Able to cost a roster and write them to match our busy trade times.
Similar experience in a remote environment or ski resort
Be available in Melbourne or on Mt Buller for first round interviews.
You must be prepared to work a 6 day busy week throughout the season and you will need to be extremely organized and be able to work under pressure. We offer a competitive wage and live in on site accommodation for the successful applicant. Position commences May 2015.
