2015 Snow Season Positions

Our family orientated hotel on the top of Mt Buller is seeking applicants for many of our positions for the upcoming 2015 snow season.  We are seeking friendly, professional, team members in several areas of our mid size Hotel.  Accommodation on a share basis is available for applicants and is discussed at interview.  Interviews will be held by telephone commencing March.

 These positions include the following:

  • Breakfast Chef/Cook
  • Ski Hire Attendants
  • Food and Beverage Attendants
  • Boutique Sales Person
  • Public Area Cleaner
  • Housekeeper / Room Attendants

Breakfast Chef/Cook

This position would suit the early riser as shifts normally commence around 7.00 am each, morning and then continue to after the lunch shifts.  This is a full time position working around 45 hours per week over 6 days in a team of 8.  We pay Federal award wages including all penalties for weekend work and overtime.  Accommodation on mountain for the right applicant is available at a cost on a share basis.

We are looking for an employee with previous experience in a similar role.  That works well alone as well as in a small team and can contribute to the pleasurable guest experience.  Position will commence early June and you will need to make a commitment until late September.

Ski Hire Attendants

We have several positions in our boutique ski, board and clothing hire in the Hotel.  We cater mainly to houseguests and guests from surrounding lodges and apartments.  You will need experience previously in a hire establishment and you will need to be good with families.  This is a Full time position working around 45 hours per week over 6 days, usually giving breaks in the middle of the day for snow activities.

You need to have current binding certificates and be happy to work in a small team giving friendly efficient service to our important guests.  We pay Federal Award wages including all penalties for weekend work and overtime work.  Accommodation available for the right applicants on a share basis on mountain.  You will need to be able to commit for the entire snow season, mid June to end September.

Food and Beverage Attendants

We have several positions to join our team already on the ground in our busy hotel on the side of the main ski run Bourke Street.  A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role of both food and Beverage with experience in great coffee making is required for these positions.  You will need to work well within the team and be willing and able to work in all areas of the department giving excellent, friendly service to our important guests.  You will also need to hold a Victorian RSA.

The department serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a public bar area along with the Restaurant Bar and a part time bar on our roof deck.  You will need to be able to commit until the end of September and we expect positions will commence throughout June (some earlier and some later).  These are full time positions, working 6 days per week around 42 to 45 hours, different shifts shared amongst the team.  You must also be willing to help in other areas of the Hotel if required.

Accommodation with meals available if required, on a share basis, on mountain.

Boutique Sales Person

There is only one full time position available in our Boutique this year, selling souvenirs, hats, gloves, goggles and great items though our shop in the foyer of our busy hotel.  This full time job needs someone with retail experience, who can up sell and have excellent communication skills.  You need to turn your hand to changing displays, re stocking, stock take and giving great customer service in both busy and quiet times.  You need to be able to commit for the entire season (beginning of June to end of September).  You will need to have had at least 2 years previous experience, be well presented and have a bright bubbly personality.

We work 6 days per week around 42 to 45 hours and for the right applicant we have accommodation on mountain on a share basis. We pay Federal Award wages including penalty rates for weekend work and overtime. 

Public Areas Cleaner

This full time position that works 6 days per week around 45 hours  and commences in mid June and you need to commit until the end of September.  You need to have at least 2 years experience in a similar position and have good communication skills.  Your duties will include keeping our restaurant area clean along with the general toilets and help in housekeeping on a couple of days each week. Keeping our windows, doors and vacuuming all general areas are important to us and will be your responsibility.

We want to show our hotel off to its best and this requires someone with an eye for detail, happy to work both alone or in a small team with a bright happy personality.  We pay Federal award wages including penalty rates for weekends and overtime.

Housekeepers/Room Attendants

We have several positions commencing either early June or later in June and we need a commitment until the end of September.  This is a great opportunity to spend the winter in the Victorian ski fields while earning a good living and experiencing a unique lifestyle.  These are full time positions working 6 days per week around 42 hours.  We pay Federal Award wages including penalty rates for weekend work and overtime.

You will need good communication skills, and be happy working in a small team.  Needless to say you need to be fit and hardworking and have a good eye for detail.  2 years previous experience in a similar cleaning role is essential.
